In this half-day course, the first of a 2-part series (followed by "Excel: Power Pivot"), this course will help you gain a better overall understanding of data analysis and how to take advantage of more advanced features of Excel's PivotTables (PTs) and PivotCharts, to analyze data from a variety of sources and then present meaningful data with maximum clarity and effectiveness, to improve business decisions. Topics covered include: preparing raw data, creating PTs from multiple sources, summarizing, organizing, filtering and formatting PTs, followed by creating, manipulating and formatting PivotCharts. Books are provided, along with in-person computer lab activities. As this course builds upon and extends numerous Excel concepts, it is strongly recommended to have completed Excel levels: 1, 2, 3 courses as prerequisites, although they are not mandatory for enrollment in this course. This course and its Part 2 companion: "Excel: Power Pivot," collectively qualify as "Excel 4: Data Analysis."
